The medium-sized company KIMA based in Germany is an innovative system integrator of electrical and automation technology. Ranging from engineering and switchboard construction to commissioning, KIMA develops tailor-made solutions for different applications in the field of production- and process automation.
This particularly includes the implementation of complex process control systems. In addition to the procedural know-how about the energy and water supply, KIMA’s engineers and technicians are specialists for the electrotechnical plant components installed there. In its own department for “Water Management and Environmental Technology”, new and existing plant-projects are executed around the world. The continuous acceleration of digitization and networking (Industry 4.0) offers both increasing opportunities and risks for the energy and water sectors. To meet these increasing customer needs, KIMA relies on innovation by science and technology. As part of the WANDEL project, KIMA's goal is to first develop concepts for new software components in close coordination with the scientific community so that future requirements in the water and energy sector can be included. The development of a simulation and optimization system to be implemented here shall be the basis of the control algorithms as well as an interface to the various participants.
